Stylists FAQs

We’ve highlighted some of the most common questions to help guide you through getting Klix. If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, please contact our team for further assistance.

How can I purchase Klix?

In order to purchase Klix Hair Extensions, you must be a licensed cosmetologist and be certified in our application method by taking one of our classes.

If I am already certified in other hair extension methods do I still have to take the Klix Certification class?

Although we appreciate and respect all education classes, in order to protect Klix clients, Klix Certified Stylists, and our brand, we insist on teaching you the proper way to apply our extensions.  All of the stylists who have taken our classes that were already certified in other extension methods have confirmed that they learned something new and specific to our brand by the end of the class.  Some stylists were very happy to have learned something that they could use with other brands as well.

Where and when can I take a class?

We offer classes bi-monthly in California, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Chicago, New York, and Michigan.  All of our class locations and current class dates can be found here.

How long are the classes?

Our classes are generally about 5 hours long.  Classes usually begin at 10 am and end around 3 pm.  If you complete your model before 3pm and our educator feels that you have successfully completed the class you are free to leave.  Your model won’t join you during the first hour of class.

What do I need to bring to the class?

A live model and the usual stylist supplies; shears, styling products, heat tools, etc..  We only use the host salons chairs, mirrors, outlets and trays.  We will send you a complete list after you sign up for class.

Do I have to bring a live model? Can I use a mannequin instead?

We require a live model for class in order to show you the proper amount of your client’s natural hair that must be pulled through the micro-links within our special “safety zone”.  Unfortunately, we don’t feel that training on mannequin heads trains you properly.  If you need assistance finding a model, please let us know and we may be able to assist you.

How will I know what color and texture of Klix Hair Extensions to use on my model during class?

After you sign up for class, we will send you out some pre-class supplies.  One of the pre-class supplies will be our color swatch ring that you can use to match your models hair with one of our colors.

How much is the class and do you offer financing?

Our Klix Certification Class is $750 per stylist, which may be paid in full at the time that you sign up or you can make payments as follows:

– A minimum deposit amount of $375 is due when you sign up and the balance of $375 can be paid in one of two ways:

  • $375 balance can be paid in full approximately 10 days before the class date.
  • $375 balance can be divided into 5 payments of $75 each due on the first of each month after you take the class. Note:  A valid credit card must be kept on file for this option until the class fee is paid off in full.

Can Klix be worn through TSA at the airport or during a CAT scan?

We have never had anyone report a problem at the airport.  As for any medical tests, we recommend discussing this with your physician or the technician administering the scan.  We have been told by a technician that if the scan is for the head area they would have to be removed because the links would appear on the test results and render them useless.  You should tell the technician that our links are made of aluminum.

What is included in the class?

You will receive your own klixKIT at the beginning of class which will contain the hair for your model, sample hair, all of the tools required to apply Klix, marketing materials, and accessories (please visit How To Get Certified for a full list of all of the class supplies that you will be receiving in class).  The first hour of the class is an oral presentation and then you will begin applying a full head of Klix extensions on your model.  When the first model is complete the educator will pause the class for a brief cutting and blending demonstration, and then you will continue with your model until complete.

If I sign up for the class and bring another stylist as my model, will that stylist be certified also? Or can we both apply Klix to each other and both get certified?

No, only the stylist signed up for the class and applying Klix to the model will be certified.  Certifications may not be resold, gifted, shared, or transferred according to our Diversion Policy.  The certification stays with the stylist forever.

Unfortunately, there isn’t time for two stylists to apply Klix to each other during class.

What if I want a private class held at my salon?

Klix will happily work with you to schedule a private class at your salon for between 4-6 stylists.

We will work with you to select a date and schedule one of our educators to travel to your location.  The price does not change for private classes, however, it does make it more convenient for the stylists and models and Klix pays for all travel costs associated with sending our educators to you.
